The Most Clean Conscious Areas of Essex Revealed

Domestic cleaning took a whole new level of significance in recent years with the onset of the pandemic. This trend is no different in the heart of Essex.

Here at Essex Clean Squad, we recently undertook a study to understand which parts of Essex the demand for domestic cleaning services was strongest and the results were very interesting. To carry this out we delved into Google search data to reveal which areas of Essex had the highest monthly search volumes for terms related to domestic cleaning and the like.

When looking at pure numbers Colchester has the highest monthly search volume for domestic cleaning with an average of 1,550 searches per month followed closely by Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock.

Interestingly though when you adjust the results for population size on a per capita basis you find that Epping is ranked number one in terms of the number of search terms related to domestic cleaning. Epping is followed by Saffron Waldon and Wickford. Chelmsford, Clacton-on-Sea and Basildon end up at the bottom of list in terms of number of searches per month for domestic cleaning when adjusted for population size.

These results make for interesting reading and demonstrate that some of the smallest towns in Essex have the most cleaning-conscious residents in the county. Going forward it will be interesting to see whether the demand for domestic cleaning services is impacted by the cost of living crisis. When things get tight financially spending on discretionary services like cleaning are typically one of the first things people cut down on.
